A culturally Black Deaf Gay man who is a dynamic and innovative presenter, Ritchie Bryant has over twenty years of experience presenting ASL and Deaf-related workshops. He is a co-author of TRUE+WAY ASL, an online ASL eWorkbook and is in the process of publishing a Visual Gestural Communication textbook this fall. Currently, Ritchie teaches online and traditional ASL courses to students in Rochester Institute of Technology’s Modern Languages and Culture ASL program. His career of teaching, interpreting, and presenting includes teaching ASL at the University of Pennsylvania from 2001-2005 and serving on the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf board from 2015-2017.
This talk will unpack what it means to exist and work at the intersections of race, gender, sexuality, and ability.
ASL interpreters will be present!
